Sunshine Coast Shade Umbrella Installation

Supershades specialise in Sunshine Coast shade umbrella installation services. We are a family-owned business that has been providing high-quality products to Sunshine Coast residents and business owners for over 20 years, and we have a strong reputation for pairing great customer service with professional and reliable workmanship. We do all the work ourselves, from the measure and quote, through to ordering and assembling all the parts and then the final installation – we don’t use sub-contractors and we don’t use cheap or unreliable parts and materials.

Shade Umbrella Options

Our shade umbrellas can be installed with side-posts or centre-posts. Side-posts are slightly more expensive as they require more engineering to properly balance the weight of the umbrella. They also need to be installed in stable ground whereas a centre posted umbrella can be installed on floating decks.

If you live in an area prone to strong winds, we recommend using centre posts grounded in stable/solid ground – when they are installed in this manner they are capable of withstanding winds up to 200km. Side-posted umbrellas are rated for 60kpm winds.

In addition to choosing where the posts go, you’ll also be able to select from water resistant or waterproof fabrics as well as from hundreds of different colour options to suit any décor.

Shade Umbrellas vs Shade Sails

While our shade sails and umbrellas are both high-quality products, there are some key differences between these products that make them more suitable for different applications.

Shade umbrellas have the advantage of being collapsible in the majority of times, as well as portable in some cases, whereas a shade sail will be a permanent fixture once it is installed. Shade sails are the more cost-effective option if the area is quite large, while shade umbrellas are considered by many to be a more aesthetically pleasing option for smaller areas.

Still not sure? Supershades have been working in the industry for over 20 years and are more than happy to share their industry knowledge with you and advise you on the best option for your circumstance and application. We can also provide you with a quote for both options so that you can compare the price difference when making your decision.

Sunshine Coast Shade Sail Installation

Supershades specialise in shade sail installation on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas. Our shade cloths are made from high-quality materials, come in a huge range of colour options and can be cut to suit and shape or size of outdoor area. Check out our gallery to see some examples of past shade sails that we have installed on both residential and commercial properties.

One of the major benefits of shade sails is that the bigger they get, the more cost-effective they become, making them a great option for larger areas. If you have a small area that you want to have covered, you may wish to consider our shade umbrellas or awnings.

Shade Sail Options

We have a huge range of options to choose from for your shade sails, from the material (Shadecloth or Vinyl) through to the colour of the fabric and posts. We can configure the posts in any way you want, with posts at different heights or angles to make the shade sail 3 dimensional or cast shade in particular spots.

Some of the different options you will have include

Shadecloth Fabric: We have a water resistant or a waterproof option available. The water-resistant shadecloth is a high-quality thick material with small gaps and it will protect you from UV rays as well as light rain. The waterproof option is more expensive but will protect you during heavier rain, making it ideal for outdoor patios and entertaining areas.

Post Colour: Our posts are cut to size and then powdercoated (if required) in the colour of your choice. We can usually match it to the colour of your pool fencing or downpipes etc.

Fabric Colour: We have hundreds of different shades to select from, so matching the colour of your sails to other elements of your home will not be an issue. We will bring the range of colours with us when we have our initial consultation.

The Process

If you are interested in having a shade sail installed and want to receive a quote then the process is simple. Start by getting in touch with us to book an initial consultation; we’ll send someone to take measurements and discuss the different colour and fabric options. Following the consultation we’ll provide you with a quote, and if you are happy with the quote we’ll place your order and start assembling the required materials. Once the posts are powdercoated and the fabric is cut to size, we’ll book in an installation date with you. The whole process usually takes 2-6 weeks depending on the size and whether there are any special requirements.
